Early Edge California and PEACH (an early childhood higher education collaborative) have partnered to present a three-part webinar series this summer for PreK-3rd educators of Multilingual Learners (MLs). These sessions will highlight three of the key instructional strategy areas featured in the Multilingual Learning Toolkit: family engagement, supporting MLs’ oral language development, and supporting MLs’ social-emotional health and development.

Session 1: Family Engagement is Key

Session one, Family Engagement is Key, focused on strategies to enhance parent engagement and family involvement. Our special guest shared examples of assignments that can be integrated into higher education courses.  

The session was led by Anna Arambula-Gonzalez, M.Ed, Adjunct Professor at Fresno City College, with special guest Dr. Giselle Navarro-Cruz, Associate Professor at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Session 2: Supporting Multilingual Learners' Oral Language Development

Session two, Supporting Multilingual Learners’ Oral Language Development, focused on sharing language trajectories that MLs go through as they maintain their home language and develop English. Our special guest shared examples of assignments that can be integrated into higher education courses.  

The session was led by Anna Arambula-Gonzalez, M.Ed, Adjunct Professor at Fresno City College, with special guest Dr. Guadalupe Díaz Lara, Assistant Professor at the California State University, Fullerton.
